Hi my name is Marie, I have two children in full time primary education and I have been registered as a child minder since 2017. Prior to this, since 2010, I worked in nurseries with children aged 4 months- 4 years. Working across all age groups as a team leader and key worker.

I am conveniently located at the top of Mont Millais, perfect for dropping off and collecting you child enroute to town, however I can also offer a morning pick up (time depending) from the B and Q area or Trinity School area.

I hold a level 3 qualification in childcare and hold all mandatory qualifications required in our statutory requirements. I am also level 2 Makaton trained, level 1 Maybo trained and hold various qualifications that I have completed over the years. I also regularly complete CPD to keep my training fresh and relevant.

I provide varied healthy morning and afternoon snacks as well as a homecooked hot or cold lunch daily. All nappies and wipes, outings and activities are included in my hourly fee.

I plan the activities I provide around the children in my care, looking at their current interests and abilities and aim to go on regular almost daily outings to various places such as Heritage Sites, the Zoo, St Catherine’s woods, beaches, parks, woodland walks, playgroups and various other fun places around the island.

We also regularly attend a childminder ran allotment group, growing fresh vegetables that that the children are able to take home and also having lots of fun getting muddy with our friends digging and playing in the mud kitchen!

I help to run a weekly JACC playgroup and so we also attend this regularly.

I have a lovely safe garden for the children to play in with direct access from the play space for free flow play inside and out we like to make the most of the lovely fresh country air, going for walks, searching for bugs and birds and often getting muddy! – a spare set of clothes is recommended!

I aim to provide a stimulating environment and often involve the children in the plan for the day. Creative, messy and fun activities happen regularly such as playdough, water play, super silk, painting and baking . I like to encourage children’s imaginative natures and so I provide many open ended activities and toys to encourage this. I regularly rotate the toys on offer and encourage the children’s assistance in choosing the next activities to play with.

My CV, references and policies are all available upon request and I am happy to discuss anything with you, no question is to big or small. Please feel free to give me a ring or send me an email on the above contact information.

Thank you.
